Shut out the world

Text: 2 Kings 4:3-5 (Message Bible)
(3-4) "Here's what you do," said Elisha. "Go up and down the street and borrow jugs and bowls from all your neighbors. And not just a few—all you can get. Then come home and lock the door behind you, you and your sons. Pour oil into each container; when each is full, set it aside."
(5-6) She did what he said. She locked the door behind her and her sons; as they brought the containers to her, she filled them. When all the jugs and bowls were full, she said to one of her sons, "Another jug, please."
He said, "That's it. There are no more jugs."
Then the oil stopped.

One of the problems of many believers is listening a lot to what the world is saying. We fix our hearts and minds on the events surrounding us that we forget and neglect what the Word is saying.

This prophet's wife in our anchor text had a poblem and came to Elisha for help. The man of God gave her an instruction (akin to God's Word) and told her to "lock the door behind you".

Why was that singular part of the instruction necessary? You see, when God is about to do a miracle in your life, His instructions, His Word to you in most cases would not conform to the pattern of society.

Therefore, to prevent the world from contaminating the Word, you are expected to "shut out the world". The world will try to ridicule the process, but shut the world out.

The seed of God's word within you is powerful to the extent to which it is protected from negativity. So shut out the world. Don't listen to the critics and the naysayers.

Take a fast, take a retreat if you must to keep that Word in the right condition for growth.  Once God's Word for the solution to your challenge comes, grow that word inside of you in the secret place, and your manifestation will be evident to all.

Have a graced day...
