The Lord is merciful and gracious

Image
Spirit Breakfast 🍞☕ 19/10/2020  Text: Psalms 103:8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy. I woke up this morning with a word ringing in my heart: "The Lord is merciful and gracious to those who love Him".  I then searched through scriptures and found the anchor text above which further reveals the extent of God's mercy and grace towards mankind.  It reminds me of the lyrics of the song "You amaze me" by Vicki Yohe: Your presence amazes me, Your glory surrounds me When I walked in this room I felt Your arms hands upon me To think how great You are, still You would touch someone like me It's Your mercy and grace, You amaze me. The mercy and grace of God towards us is something we can never fully understand, but we can be thankful every day that our God is merciful and gracious towards us.  Just say a word of thanks to Him this morning for His unending mercy and Grace upon your life.  Have a graced day... #SpiritBreakfast™ #M

The Spirit of Power

Image
Spirit Breakfast 🍞☕ 9/10/2020  Text: Acts of the Apostles 1:8 (New Living Translation) But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” There is no spiritual power without the presence of the Holy Spirit. Until the Holy Spirit resides within a man, such a person is far from experiencing and manifesting spiritual power.  The level of fellowship and intimacy with the Holy Spirit determines the level of spiritual power manifested.  The kingdom of God in these last days will only be forceful enough to overcome the world through the power supplied by the Holy Spirit upon the lives of believers.  Spiritual power is necessary for global takeover and Jesus knew this which is why He instructed the disciples to wait for the Holy Spirit's baptism. The relevance of any believers in these last days is a function of spiritual power they posse

The fluidity of power

Spirit Breakfast 🍞☕ 8/10/2020  Text: Mark 5:30 And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?  Spiritual power is fluid. It flows from one point to another. It ebbs from one level to another.  Spiritual power is never stagnant. It is either flowing out of a man or flowing out. And it only flows towards the place of need.  Spiritual power is supplied based on the demand. This demand is enforced through prayer and faith. Jesus was a man full of power which he received based on his constant demand in the place of prayer. When a need came based on a need that was enforced through faith by the woman with the issue of blood, power had to flow in that direction. God's power is still capable of doing great things even today. It can flow into you and even from you to others.  You can enforce the spiritual power through prayers and faith. You can draw forth God's power out of an anointed man thr

Spirit Breakfast 🍞☕ 11/9/2020  Text: Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. An eagle has 340 degrees field of vision and does not suffer from any refractive error. Hence, we can say it has a broad and wide perspective. Perspective can be defined as a particular way of considering something. It can also be said to be the point of view of a person regarding an issue.  Having a flexible and wide perspective allows you to see opportunities around you. Not in every occasion will your idea be the best.  A change in perspective towards a problem can instantly bring about the solution you've been looking for. If you are fixated on a particular point of view, there is a high possibility you will remain stuck with a particular problem. Many large business that seem to be stuck at a particular level hire consultants. The primary reason for this is to help them look at the issue with a fresh pair of eyes and from another angle.  T

Spirit Breakfast 🍞☕ 10/9/2020  Text: Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. The problem of many in terms of goal achievement is reduced focus as they get closer to their goals. Many often take their eyes of the ball as they get closer. One of the reasons is because they think they've already attained their goals because of their proximity to the target. And every true athlete knows that what happens at the last lap of the race is the most crucial.  A good percentage of people on the planet when they set goals begin with all focus and intensity. But as they continue, focus wanes as a result of the challenges. An eagle sees its target from afar and approaches it with an initial focus but as it gets closer, its eye muscles continue to adjust focus on its target until it catches it.  Focus ensures that a plan is seen to the end. Vision gets you started but focus keeps you on course.  Paul the Apostle said in Philippians 3:

There are three types of sight: Hindsight, insight, and foresight.  Hindsight deals with being able learn to wisdom based on issues that occurred in the past. Insight deals with having practical wisdom that can be applied for a current situation.  Foresight is being able to plan and apply wisdom for events that are yet to occur. Foresight is a function of vision.  What gives God the ultimate edge over all of creation is foresight. God sees the end from the beginning and knows how to apply wisdom to suit all His good purposes.  An eagle has foresight and this allows it to plan its attack even before it takes off or dives at it's prey.  Foresight is an attribute that gives one a higher success rate.  Men with foresight plan ahead, the trends don't catch them unaware. If you are always surprised at how things happen to you, you are yet to maste

Spirit Breakfast 🍞☕ 8/9/2020  Text: Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. We believe in an Eternal Self-existing Creator who made all that's seen and unseen. This Being fashioned the tiny micro-organisms that can only be seen with powerful electronic microscopes to the extremely large blue whale that inhabits the oceans.  The One we call God is also responsible for creating and making the eagle the way it is. The powerful eyesight (vision) of the eagle is a gift of God to this amazing creature.  This gives us the first understanding of vision: It is always God-given. True vision always originate from God. Ambition differs from vision in the sense that ambition is man-driven.  While believers in Jesus Christ have the best opportunity to access God-given visions, it is possible for unbelievers to receive God-given visions.  Pharoah and Nebuchadnezzar who were ungodly Kings still received visions from God. There is no way we can talk about the eagle without talking about its vision. The eagle has the best eyesight of all creatures on planet Earth.   It is not even a contest when compared to the eyesight of humans. Any of the 59 species of eagle on the planet will put a human's eyesight to shame.  An eagle can see about 4 to 8 times better than a human being. It can locate a rabbit or any small creature 2 miles away while flying at a distance of 650km above the ground.  Eagles do not generally suffer from  refractive error which include near-sightedness, far-sightedness, etc. and an adult eagle can clearly see fish in a river.  While moving towards it's prey, the muscles in the eye will continue to adjust its focus naturally. Therefore, the distance between it and the prey doesn't change the focus at any time.  An eagle can use each eye ind

Spirit Breakfast 🍞☕ 4/9/2020  Text: Job 9:26 They are passed away as the swift ships: as the eagle that hasteth to the prey. Apart from the text above, other verses in the Bible references the eagle as a swift creature. The bald eagle is known to fly at speeds of 120 to 160km per hour.  To be swift means to be fast, quick and capable of moving at high speed. The eagle is swift as it hastens to its prey. This means there is a target which the eagle has in mind. The target is obtained as a result of waiting as we said yesterday.  While we are encouraged to make haste in life, haste without direction or a target is a waste. Many people are swift in their going out and coming in without any specific target in mind.  A mad man is one who wanders aimlessly without a particular destination. Sadly, many sane people still behave in this manner.  If you ask them what their goals are they cannot accurately define and articulate it. God will not grant swiftness to such individuals.  It reminds me

"The vulture is a patient bird" is the title of a James Hadley Chase novel originally published in 1969. The phrase was also used by a group of occultic ritualists as a mantra in a Nollywood movie in the 90s.  Patience is a virtue readily associated with the vulture. But most people do not consider this to be an attribute of an eagle.  However, patience is an attribute shared by these two large birds although the vulture is the more patient one. The eagle is a patient bird. This is seen in the eagle's ability to stay still at a top spot while its eyes searches to and fro for its next prey.  An eagle will not just launch out or make a dive without a target. Even when it is in the sky, the eagle will maintain a gliding position for a long time until it sig

The vitality of the eagle is legendary. Psalms 103:5 likens youthfulness to the life of an eagle. " Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's." These majestic creatures can live for up to 30 years and a little bit above that. Yet, they live a life full of vitality.  Once eagles reach the age of hunting after 12 weeks (maximum) of birth, they continue flying and hunting till death.  This vitality even at such an old age borders on the supernatural. Most creatures lose their vitality, strength and speed as they grow older but not eagles.  Isaiah 40:30 says " Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:" This speaks of natural youthfulness that is a characteristic o

This article debunks that myth.  Instead, eagles naturally lose their feathers through a molting process at least once a year. The old feathers fall off naturally and are replaced by new ones.  This is a renewal process. To renew simply means to make new again. What is old is made new again.  Isaiah 40:31 says that those who wait on God shall renew their strength. The strength of the eagle is in its wings (feathers). The wings are responsible for causing it to soar above 10,000 feet in the air.  For anyone to renew their strength, it takes waiting on God. Job said "...all the days of

This happens not because you pulled too hard on the tail or  held it too tight.    Rather, it is a self-defense mechanism known as autotomy. The lizard is willing to let go of its appendage for the sole purpose of self-preservation. The amazing thing is that most lizards are capable of regrowing their tail. While we humans cannot severe any of our appendages and regrow them later, there is a valuable lesson to be learnt here. This is the lesson of separation or as Jesus put it "cut off".  "And if your hand—even your stronger hand—causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. No be everything you go dey loud.   We should learn how to keep certain things private especially when they are still in the formation stage. Not all achievements should be made public. Not everyone who likes or congratulates the success you post or share are truly happy with you. Even certain folks you think are close may not want the progress of that goal. The web pattern is made in such detail that it suits the purpose the web is intended to achieve.  The difference between what you are doing, and what another person who is doing the same thing is the manner in which it is done.  Spiders pay attention to detail when spinning their webs. Attention to detail matters when we do our business. What is overlooked by someone else can be used as a selling point for another.  Competing businesses know that the way to win customers from the competition is to offer that which the competition is not.  And in most cases, while everyone chase after the big business strategies, they neglect the little detail. "Let your words be few". This is not a suggestion but an instruction. The Bible is full of instructions concerning how we should speak.  James 1:19 instructs us to be slow to speak. Matthew 12:36 informs us that every idle word spoken shall be given account for on the day of judgement. Why then does the scriptures have so much on words and how we should speak? The answer is because words are the formative and creative force that shaped the universe. Hebrews 11:3 says "Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear." God's Word framed the worlds and caused the unseen to be made manifest. And this ability was handed over to us as human beings when w

The silk that spiders make their webs from is stored in liquid form inside their bodies.  When they want to make the web, they bring it out and the liquid silk becomes hard when it comes in contact which allows them to spin their webs.  Each of us have at least one inherent skill, gift, or talent. While skills, gifts, and talents can be learned, no one is born without a particular one.  Even the skills we learn are a product of the inherent potential we have to gain mastery of such skills. If you aren't wired or designed in that manner certain skills can be difficult to acquire.  Although we may have these skills residing within us, it is unprofitable to us in that form. Spiders are very skillful and creative. This is evident in their web-spinning ability and the webs they make.  This web-spinning skill is an inherent ability. And it plays a major function in their lives. Spiders use their webs for the following: 1. To catch prey.  2. To live in.  3. To protect their eggs. 4. To preserve captured prey. 5. Proverbs 30:28 (King James Version) [28]The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings' palaces. The 28th verse of Proverbs 30 is an interesting one. This is because the original Hebrew word "semamiyt" has been translated into the English words "Spider" in the King James Version and "Lizard" in modern translations such as the New Living Translation. This is no cause for controversy as both creatures fit the Hebrew word in use. First of all, both lizard and spider have their own Hebrew words which are different from the one used here.  The word in use here isn't clear but it is from a root word that speaks of the ability of a creature to stun, stupefy, or poison. Every change they undergo socially and physically is aimed at fulfilling that purpose.  Although many changes are required, their purpose and goal is simplistic and easy to remember. Their purpose when they swarm is to EAT.  They are so focused on this that no green thing escapes their path when they begin to eat.  What can we learn from this? We are all created by God for a purpose. This purpose is given to us before we were formed. It is the primary essence of our existence.  Every other thing we do in life is to aid in accomplishing that purpose. The dynamics of purpose might look complex, however, the goal of our purpose is always simplistic.  The locusts have to become social, they have to undergo physical transformation, mate rapi

And after that it is back to your solitary life.
