Text: Proverbs 29:18

Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

We believe in an Eternal Self-existing Creator who made all that's seen and unseen. This Being fashioned the tiny micro-organisms that can only be seen with powerful electronic microscopes to the extremely large blue whale that inhabits the oceans.

The One we call God is also responsible for creating and making the eagle the way it is. The powerful eyesight (vision) of the eagle is a gift of God to this amazing creature.

This gives us the first understanding of vision: It is always God-given. True vision always originate from God. Ambition differs from vision in the sense that ambition is man-driven.

While believers in Jesus Christ have the best opportunity to access God-given visions, it is possible for unbelievers to receive God-given visions.

Pharoah and Nebuchadnezzar who were ungodly Kings still received visions from God. God acts in such manner when He wants His Divine purposes established upon the earth.

This happens to the point that even a pagan like King Cyrus can become God's anointed for the purpose of fulfilling God's vision. Many men in history who did not readily know God have been used in this manner.

Therefore, vision is from God and because of His sovereignty He can give it to who He chooses.

Believers can readily access visions by following the principle Habakkuk shares in chapter 2 of his book. It is the principle of standing watch. This is making yourself available to receive.

The eagle follows this principle of standing watch as it perches high above while setting its gaze intently.

Vision is captured with the eyes of our mind and registered in our heart. Therefore, true vision requires a source of light that supplies the image and that Source is God.

"I think that the greatest gift God ever gave man is not the gift of sight but the gift of vision. Sight is a function of the eyes, but vision is a function of the heart." ~ Myles Munroe

May the eyes of your mind capture divinely given visions and images required for the fulfilment of your purpose in Jesus name.

Have a graced day...
