Proverbs 30:28 (King James Version)
The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings' palaces.
Continued from yesterday...
Let's begin with the Spider...
Not many people like spiders. In fact, many are afraid of them. That's why there is something called arachnophobia.
While these little and sometimes not so little creatures can be somewhat scary to some people, one thing spiders are that cannot be disputed is their ingenious creativity.
Spiders are very skillful and creative. This is evident in their web-spinning ability and the webs they make.
This web-spinning skill is an inherent ability. And it plays a major function in their lives. Spiders use their webs for the following:
1. To catch prey.
2. To live in.
3. To protect their eggs.
4. To preserve captured prey.
5. It is used as a means of movement. Spiders can create webs that allows them to ride the winds current.
The web of the spider is very durable. It doesn't seem so to us because of it's thinness. However, the silk of a spider's web is five times stronger than steel of the same thickness.
Some researchers have suggested that a web that is as thick as a pencil will actually stop a flying aeroplane.
Apart from durability, a spider's web is purposefully and intricately designed. They aren't random creations but are well planned.
You might be wondering what lessons can we learn from all this? I'll tell you tomorrow...
"You can't use up creativity. The more you use the more you have." ~ Maya Angelou
