Text: Proverbs 30:25 (New Living Translation)

[26]Hyraxes—they aren’t powerful, but they make their homes among the rocks.


Continued from yesterday...


Rock Hyraxes are not short on natural predators. They are preyed on by leopards, hyenas, jackals, servals, pythons, and the Verreaux's eagles. 


Given that these little creatures are not designed with a biological defensive feature, they choose to live in rocks to offer them the defense and protection they need.


Their inability to defend themselves made them find wisdom in getting the much needed defence from the rocks. Rock hyraxes are very safe when they retreat into their rock stronghold. 


This is the wisdom we should learn. As humans, there are so many things that can cause us serious hurt. This could be spiritual, physical, emotional, financial, psychological, etc. 


Wisdom requires us to seek defence and protection when we find ourselves in danger. Just like the Hyraxes live and run into the rocks for safety, we should always dwell in The Rock who is God. 


Psalms 18:31 "For who is God save the LORD? or who is a rock save our God?"


Psalms 62:2 says "He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved."


Psalms 94:22 says "But the LORD is my defence; and my God is the rock of my refuge."


In God our Rock, we find ultimate defence, security, and protection. We run into Him and we are safe. 


Don't live your life exposed and open to all sorts of predatory attacks. Live your life in the security that God provides. Come and dwell safely in Him, for in Him are pleasures evermore

Topic: Love Not The World Text: 1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him . John the Apostle had a personal relationship with Jesus during His time here on Earth. The relationship was so deep that he was referred to as "the beloved" of Jesus. Therefore, he understood what it means to love Jesus and be loved by Jesus. In his epistle, he decides to speak a great deal about love. Love is one of the major themes of this apostle. So much so it earned him the nickname 'The Apostle of love" John submission is that anyone who loves the world does not have the love of the Father. Which is why he encouraged the believers no to love the world, nor the things in it. Sadly, many believers have not only fallen in love with the world, but have laid in bed with the world. Theme: Isaiah 43:18-21 interpreted in relation to  Salvation. (Pt 11) Sub Theme: All will Honour God Anchor Text: Isaiah 43:20 The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen. Based on our anchor text, we discover that the reason the beast of the field, dragons and the owls would honour God was because He gave waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Like we have established already that the Holy Spirit is the One who causes waters in the wilderness (salvation) and rivers to flow in the desert (Holy Spirit baptism). These creatures mentioned weren't physical rather they were spiritual entities. They were the demonic forces that try to oppose God's rule on Earth.
