Text: Proverbs 30:28 (New Living Translation)

Lizards—they are easy to catch, but they are found even in kings’ palaces.


Continued from yesterday...

 

Discreet: careful not to cause embarrassment or attract too much attention, especially by keeping something secret:(Source: Cambridge English Dictionary)


Lizards can be discreet when they want to be. This is why they can live in your house without your knowledge. 


This is a major lesson we need to learn especially in the era where everything must be posted on shared on different social media platforms. No be everything you go dey loud.

 

We should learn how to keep certain things private especially when they are still in the formation stage. Not all achievements should be made public.


Not everyone who likes or congratulates the success you post or share are truly happy with you. Even certain folks you think are close may not want the progress of that goal.


In 1 Thessalonians 4:11, the Apostle Paul says: "Make it your goal to live a quiet life" (New Living Translation). A quiet life here is one of discretion. 

 

Even Jesus while He was on earth was discreet enough that Satan did not know His goal. That is why 1 Corinthians 2:8 says "None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory." (New Living Translation).


God Himself is discreet and shrouded in mystery. All His ways are not known that is why His purposes and His plans can never be halted by anyone. 


An indication that we have the God-life is our ability to maintain an aura of mystery that people cannot decipher our next move. "The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.” (John 3:8 New Living Translation).

 


Discretion is a strategy that gives one victory in battle. No team reveals their strategy to their opponents if they have any intention of winning.

Topic: Love Not The World Text: 1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him . John the Apostle had a personal relationship with Jesus during His time here on Earth. The relationship was so deep that he was referred to as "the beloved" of Jesus. Therefore, he understood what it means to love Jesus and be loved by Jesus. In his epistle, he decides to speak a great deal about love. Love is one of the major themes of this apostle. So much so it earned him the nickname 'The Apostle of love" John submission is that anyone who loves the world does not have the love of the Father. Which is why he encouraged the believers no to love the world, nor the things in it. Sadly, many believers have not only fallen in love with the world, but have laid in bed with the world. Theme: Isaiah 43:18-21 interpreted in relation to  Salvation. (Pt 11) Sub Theme: All will Honour God Anchor Text: Isaiah 43:20 The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen. Based on our anchor text, we discover that the reason the beast of the field, dragons and the owls would honour God was because He gave waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Like we have established already that the Holy Spirit is the One who causes waters in the wilderness (salvation) and rivers to flow in the desert (Holy Spirit baptism). These creatures mentioned weren't physical rather they were spiritual entities. They were the demonic forces that try to oppose God's rule on Earth.
