Theme: The Devil's Devices (Part 2) 


Text: 2 Corinthians 2:11
Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Before we begin listing some of the devil's devices, we must understand the medium through which these devices operate.

Unlike man made devices, the devil's devices are not physical. They are not like your mechanical or electronic devices that aid you in your day to day activities.

The devil's devices are not seen. We must understand that the devil is not a physical being. He is a spirit. Because of this, he does not operate from our physical plane.

The devil rather operates from the spiritual and soulish realm which in turn manifests itself in the physical realm.

Therefore, the devil is not going to come attack you physically like many people tend to believe. No, that's not his style. Besides, he's not even allowed to directly attack a person.

The devil, make no mistake about it, is a powerful being. If God left the devil to act out in the fullness of this power, the world would have surely burnt by now. This is because of his immense hatred towards God and His creation.

However, based on this restriction, the devil now operates by plots, plans and strategies rather than brutish display of power. It is when these plots gain access into a person's life, then the evil power of the devil is displayed.

The Greek word which is translated as "devices" in our text is "noēma". The Strong Greek Lexicon defines it as: a perception, i.e. purpose, or (by implication) the intellect, disposition, itself: - device, mind, thought.

Examining that carefully, you'll discover that these devices are mind and thought based. It comes as a perception in the mind which is an aspect of the soulish part of a man.

Let me stop here today, we'll continue next time and further examine this medium through which the devil's devices operate.

Theme:   Your Inherent Power Level Defines Your Glory Level   Anchor Text:  Mark 13:26 King James Version And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. Glory is desired by most of us. We seek dignity, honour and even praise that is worthy of a successful life. Yet as believers we don't seek it the wrong way like others do.
