Theme: The Devil's Devices (Part 4) 


Text: 2 Corinthians 2:11
Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

One of the devices of the devil which could be said to be the foundation upon which others thrive on is DECEPTION.

Everything about the devil's strategy is usually shrouded in deception.

Let's look at a scripture from Genesis:
NOW THE serpent was more subtle and crafty than any living creature of the field which the Lord God had made... (Genesis 3:1 Amplified Bible)

In-depth understanding of the character called 'the serpent' in the verse above reveals it to be more than just the created wild creature.

By the way, the original Hebrew text of the word which is translated 'the serpent' might reveal the serpent in Genesis not to be the modern snake as we now know it today. (That's a discourse for another day. Or if you ask me, we will discuss that).

Anyway, 'the serpent' had a form of subtility and craftiness. However, this was further amplified by the being that made use of it.

The fact that the devil made use of the serpent reveals the like-nature shared between both creatures (the serpent and the devil).

The serpent didn't approach Eve outrightly with an attack, it came through deception.

The devil never reveals his plot. If he did many will not fall victim of it.

This deception is evident today as many are dancing their way into hell. Because they have been deceived to believe there is no hell.

Those that believe have been deceived into thinking they still have time to repent.

Many have been deceived into thinking all ways lead to God. Whereas only through Jesus can we get to God.

The end point of the devil's deception is destruction.

So Paul in our anchor text implored that we shouldn't be ignorant. Deception thrives on ignorance. A man is deceived by that which he is ignorant of.

I pray for you as I pray for myself, every act of deception that the devil will throw our way, may we have an understanding and see them for what they truly are in Jesus name. Have a blessed day.

Doubt is a powerful tool in the devil's arsenal that robs men of God's best I'll like us once again to look at Genesis. Theme:   Your Inherent Power Level Defines Your Glory Level   Anchor Text:  Mark 13:26 King James Version And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory. Glory is desired by most of us. We seek dignity, honour and even praise that is worthy of a successful life. Yet as believers we don't seek it the wrong way like others do.
