Topic: The mercy and faithfulness of God

Text: Jude 1:24
Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

The Christian walk though a hard one that requires utmost discipline isn't one we walk alone.

Though we are to maintain high morals and live perfect, we don't acheive this ourselves.

A fundamental truth reverberates throughout scripture that our excelling in spiritual matters is not an independent function of ours.

Rather, our ability to live lives that reflects the utmost level of purity that brings glory to God is a function of our dependency on the faithfulness of God.

The faithfulness of God is a spiritual mechanism that ensures the grace of God is not wasted in our lives. Despite the challenges and weakness, a man who keys into this aspect of God experiences victory in the end.

Therefore, God's faithfulness is what keeps us from falling and not our discipline alone. The man with discipline without the faithfulness of God in operation will still fall.

His faithfulness keeps us faultless, not our righteousness.

1 Thessalonians 5:24 says "Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it."

So, if he asks you to live a life of holiness, He is faithful enough to ensure you live up his expectations and demands. In other words, he releases the resources of heaven to make sure you are holy.

He never places a demand upon a man without the corresponding grace to accomplish the demand.

So does it mean all the responsibilities lies with God? No! It doesn't. Yet, the truth is a greater part lies with God.

For the faithfulness of God to find expression in a man's life, he must completely live in understanding of the truth that his life is a product of this Divine aspect of God.

He must constantly thrive to live in accordance to God's will. The word "thrive" indicates a constant pushing despite contrary situations and experiences.

God's faithfulness and mercy are intertwined aspects of God's sovereignty to interfere in the life of a man despite the situation around.

Lamentations 3:23 tells us that mercy is renewed every morning. As a result, God's faithfulness is made great through this renewal.

David understood the importance of being on the side of Mercy and he always asked for it. No wonder he enjoyed the faithfulness of God.

God's faithfulness is commitment to a cause he has institued. Once a cause is put in place, God ensures it happens.

A man who is enjoying the mercy and faithfulness of God is one you don't joke with.

"For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy." (Romans 9:15-16)

A good prayer to pray daily is that God shows you His mercy and faithfulness every day...

I pray we are daily recipients of God's mercy and faithfulness in Jesus name.

Stay blessed...
