Theme: A new heart: Primary criteria for signs

Anchor Text: 1 Samuel 10:9
[9]And it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day.

The Christian faith is no ordinary movement. The Christian faith is one that is supernaturally Divine and fully endowed with supernatural signs. And every believer in Christ Jesus is well aware of this.

To this end, we yearn, desire and pray for the manifestation of signs in the body of Christ and extending to the world at large. So we organise revivals, conventions, conferences etc so that the move of the Lord might be felt and signs may be seen.

However, if the fundamental is not in place, it results in futility. How often have we prayed for release of the mighty signs of God as seen in the days of the apostles and even in previous moves of God in years past, yet it seems that mighty manifestation of signs is eluding our generation. Why is this so?

Even prior to the Advent of the Holy Spirit who is the power of God, and the bringer of the seasons of signs just as prophet Joel prophesied in Joel 2 which manifested on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2, the principle was revealed already.

In the anchor text, in order for the signs which Samuel prophesied to be fulfilled in the life of Saul, he needed a new heart.

A new heart is one void of human negative thoughts, emotions and desires. The human heart is selfish and wicked in nature and readily truncates the move of God. Until we allow the new heart which we received at the new birth full expression, the signs and the move of God will never be in manifestation.
Ezekiel prophesied: '[26]A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. [27]And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgements, and do them.' (Ezekiel 36:26-27)

Enough of jealousy, pride, selfish ambitions and unhealthy comparison in the body of Christ; these should not be named among us. We must return to having a pure and innocent heart. Jesus said in Matthew 18:3 'Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.' Until our hearts become innocent like that of a new born baby free of any negativity, the signs won't come.

Prayer: Lord give us a new heart free of hate, anger, malice, jealousy and all negativity that hinder the manifestation of amazing signs in our lives and around the world in Jesus name
