Theme: Born of God

Anchor Text: John 1:12-13
[12]But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
[13]Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

The family to which a person is born into in most cases determines their social status. During the era when royalties and nobilities were really a thing, a person's house mattered a lot. The difference between the highborns (royalties and nobilities) and the lowborns (common folk) was quite clear. The birth of a prince is very much celebrated, whereas little or no one cares about the birth of a child from the common people.

The Almighty, the Creator of heaven and Earth and all that there is, is the Majesty other majesties look up to. His Kingdom is eternal and great beyond comprehension. He has a family with children that are His; who aren't princes but kings. And the difference between His children and other folks who aren't in His family is quite clear.

Entry into becoming a son in the family of God is one that's quite easy yet still baffles a lot of people. You could liken it to an adoption process. You are accepted into His family when you receive His Only Begotten son: Jesus. Jesus is not the only son of God, but the Only Begotten One. The rest of us were adopted into the family thanks to the sacrifice of Jesus. So the rest of us can become sons of God with our very own titles. (I'm God's Special Son).

The normal adoption proces is that the now adopted son is given the family name and given all the rights and privileges of a legitimate son but he still retains the DNA and natural/physical traits from his original parents. The spiritual adoption into God's family is deeper.

When we are adopted into God's family, we are also given the family name as well as all the rights and privileges of being a son in God's family (and oh boy, what awesome rights and privileges they are). In addition, because it is not a physical birth, our spiritual DNA is altered completely. When we are born of God or born again like Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3, it is a spiritual process that involves a change of carnal (fleshy) nature and a putting on as well as infusing of spiritual nature.

When you're born of God, a relationship is established that links and tethers you to the very nature of God. Unlike when a child is born in the natural where the umbilical cord has to be severed to give the child his own independent sustenance and existence separate from the mother; when you are born of God, a spiritual umbilical cord is developed which connects you to the eternal source of God the Father. That's why it's called 'Born of God' and not 'born from God. Because an everlasting connection is established on the day of your spiritual birth.

That's why John the beloved said: 'No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God.' (1 John 3:9 English Standard Version).
He went further to say: 'for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.' (1 John 5:4 New International Version)

What he meant is because you're connected to God and He constantly infuses His very nature into you daily, it is impossible for you to live a life that practises sin.
In the second verse John meant that because this connection between you and the Father exists, the challenges and temptation of this world can't overcome you.

That's what being born of God is. It means you're a Highborn, you're Royalty and you can't act no more like the common folk who aren't part of this family that live in sin and are constantly defeated and overcome by this world. Say to yourself: 'I am born of God.'

If you'll like to be part of this family of Highborns, do say this prayer: 'Lord Jesus, I believe in the sacrifice of your death on the cross and I accept you as my Lord and saviour. Receive me into the family of the father in Jesus name.' (If you've said this prayer, feel free to contact me.)

Prayer: May God open your eyes to realize the truth about your sonship in Him in Jesus name.
