Maintaining Intimacy with the Spirit in a Busy World (VI)

Spirit Breakfast 17/2/2021

Text: Ephesians 5:18 (New Living Translation)

Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Continued from yesterday...

1. Meditate on the Word

Joshua 1:8 says "Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do." (New Living Translation)

I have come to realize that the productivity of the Word of God in a man's life rests on meditation rather than just study.

The extent to which meditation of the Word is practised also determines the level of obedience to the Word.

Hence, David said in Psalms 119:11 "I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." (NLT)

The way to hide God's Word in our hearts is by meditation.

Studying the Word gives you head knowledge, meditating the Word gives you deep (heart) understanding.

For a busy believer who is encumbered by the demands of life, meditation is one of the ways to still your spirit and maintain intimacy with the Holy Spirit.

The advantge is that it can be done anywhere and at any time.

Tomorrow by God's Grace, I'll share tips on how to meditate on the Word despite a busy schedule and day.

I pray that God will open a book of remembrance for good on your behalf in Jesus name.

Have a graced day...
