What drives you? (III)

Spirit Breakfast 4/2/2021

Text: Hebrews 12:2 (King James Version)

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

When most folks think of negative drives, they think of things that are ungodly, immoral or evil. Yet, it runs deeper than this.

Understand this; a negative drive is not necessarily ungodly, immoral or evil in itself. Rather, a negative drive is always in opposition to the will of the Father.

For example, Jesus could have turned stones to bread if He wished. However, because it was at the behest of the devil, it became evil.

Being driven to become the wealthiest man in the world is not evil; in fact it is a good thing. However, if it doesn't fall in line with the will of the Father, our actions in attaining that goal becomes evil.

Consider Jesus once again, the drive which was a function of the joy ahead that He will receive was in line with the Father's Will.

God has designed that a person's fullest expression of joy operates within His Will for such a person. Anything outside out His Will brings dissatisfaction.

A person's drive is discovered within the context of God's purpose and will for that individual.

Hence, the next discussion will be how to discover God's purpose and will for our lives.

I pray that you won't live life without experiencing true joy in Jesus name.

Have a graced day...
