What drives you? (IV)

Spirit Breakfast 5/2/2021

Text: Hebrews 12:2 (King James Version)

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

These days there are so many books, sermons, speeches, quotes, etc. concerning purpose.

This is the same when the topic of the will of the Father for individuals is considered.

However, knowing and understanding your purpose and God's will for you is not a mystery as such.

It is achieved through an activity so common and well known albeit not many engage in it appropriately.

The will of the Father and life's purpose are discovered in the place of prayer.

Remember part of the model prayer says: "Thy will be done". And Jesus exemplified this when He prayed in the garden of Gethsemane for the will of the Father to prevail.

Jesus constantly engaged in prayer, hence He was never in confusion concerning His purpose.

Discovering and understanding purpose requires prolonged period in prayer.

Only a manufacturer knows the reason he made a thing. And only God knows the reason He created us. Therefore, it is only logical that we go back to Him to find out.

I pray that we won't live life without purpose or understanding the Father's will in Jesus name.

Have a graced day...
