Going to the ants XXVII (Eagle's vision V)

Spirit Breakfast 🍞☕ 11/9/2020  Text: Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. An eagle has 340 degrees field of vision and does not suffer from any refractive error. Hence, we can say it has a broad and wide perspective. Perspective can be defined as a particular way of considering something. It can also be said to be the point of view of a person regarding an issue.  Having a flexible and wide perspective allows you to see opportunities around you. Not in every occasion will your idea be the best.  A change in perspective towards a problem can instantly bring about the solution you've been looking for. If you are fixated on a particular point of view, there is a high possibility you will remain stuck with a particular problem. Many large business that seem to be stuck at a particular level hire consultants. The primary reason for this is to help them look at the issue with a fresh pair of eyes and from another...

Going to the ants XXVI (Eagle's vision IV)

Spirit Breakfast 🍞☕ 10/9/2020  Text: Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. The problem of many in terms of goal achievement is reduced focus as they get closer to their goals. Many often take their eyes of the ball as they get closer. One of the reasons is because they think they've already attained their goals because of their proximity to the target. And every true athlete knows that what happens at the last lap of the race is the most crucial.  A good percentage of people on the planet when they set goals begin with all focus and intensity. But as they continue, focus wanes as a result of the challenges. An eagle sees its target from afar and approaches it with an initial focus but as it gets closer, its eye muscles continue to adjust focus on its target until it catches it.  Focus ensures that a plan is seen to the end. Vision gets you started but focus keeps you on course.  Paul the Apostle said in...

Going to the ants XXV (Eagle's vision III)

Spirit Breakfast 🍞☕ 9/9/2020  Text: Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. There are three types of sight: Hindsight, insight, and foresight.  Hindsight deals with being able learn to wisdom based on issues that occurred in the past. Insight deals with having practical wisdom that can be applied for a current situation.  Foresight is being able to plan and apply wisdom for events that are yet to occur. Foresight is a function of vision.  What gives God the ultimate edge over all of creation is foresight. God sees the end from the beginning and knows how to apply wisdom to suit all His good purposes.  An eagle has foresight and this allows it to plan its attack even before it takes off or dives at it's prey.  Foresight is an attribute that gives one a higher success rate.  Men with foresight plan ahead, the trends don't catch them unaware. If you are always surprised at how things happen to...

Going to the ants XXIV (Eagle's vision II)

Spirit Breakfast 🍞☕ 8/9/2020  Text: Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. We believe in an Eternal Self-existing Creator who made all that's seen and unseen. This Being fashioned the tiny micro-organisms that can only be seen with powerful electronic microscopes to the extremely large blue whale that inhabits the oceans.  The One we call God is also responsible for creating and making the eagle the way it is. The powerful eyesight (vision) of the eagle is a gift of God to this amazing creature.  This gives us the first understanding of vision: It is always God-given. True vision always originate from God. Ambition differs from vision in the sense that ambition is man-driven.  While believers in Jesus Christ have the best opportunity to access God-given visions, it is possible for unbelievers to receive God-given visions.  Pharoah and Nebuchadnezzar who were ungodly Kings still received visions from...

Going to the ants XXIII (Eagle's vision)

Spirit Breakfast 🍞☕ 7/9/2020  Text: Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he. There is no way we can talk about the eagle without talking about its vision. The eagle has the best eyesight of all creatures on planet Earth.   It is not even a contest when compared to the eyesight of humans. Any of the 59 species of eagle on the planet will put a human's eyesight to shame.  An eagle can see about 4 to 8 times better than a human being. It can locate a rabbit or any small creature 2 miles away while flying at a distance of 650km above the ground.  Eagles do not generally suffer from  refractive error which include near-sightedness, far-sightedness, etc. and an adult eagle can clearly see fish in a river.  While moving towards it's prey, the muscles in the eye will continue to adjust its focus naturally. Therefore, the distance between it and the prey doesn't change the focus at any time.  An...

Going to the ants XXII (The Swiftness of the Eagle)

Image
Spirit Breakfast 🍞☕ 4/9/2020  Text: Job 9:26 They are passed away as the swift ships: as the eagle that hasteth to the prey. Apart from the text above, other verses in the Bible references the eagle as a swift creature. The bald eagle is known to fly at speeds of 120 to 160km per hour.  To be swift means to be fast, quick and capable of moving at high speed. The eagle is swift as it hastens to its prey. This means there is a target which the eagle has in mind. The target is obtained as a result of waiting as we said yesterday.  While we are encouraged to make haste in life, haste without direction or a target is a waste. Many people are swift in their going out and coming in without any specific target in mind.  A mad man is one who wanders aimlessly without a particular destination. Sadly, many sane people still behave in this manner.  If you ask them what their goals are they cannot accurately define and articulate it. God will not grant swiftness to such ind...

Going to the ants XXI (The Eagle is a patient bird)

Image
Spirit Breakfast 🍞 3/9/2020  Text: Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. "The vulture is a patient bird" is the title of a James Hadley Chase novel originally published in 1969. The phrase was also used by a group of occultic ritualists as a mantra in a Nollywood movie in the 90s.  Patience is a virtue readily associated with the vulture. But most people do not consider this to be an attribute of an eagle.  However, patience is an attribute shared by these two large birds although the vulture is the more patient one. The eagle is a patient bird. This is seen in the eagle's ability to stay still at a top spot while its eyes searches to and fro for its next prey.  An eagle will not just launch out or make a dive without a target. Even when it is in the sky, the eagle will maintain a gliding position for a long time until i...

Going to the ants XX (The renewal process of the Eagle II)

Spirit Breakfast 🍞☕ 2/9/2020  Text: Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. The vitality of the eagle is legendary. Psalms 103:5 likens youthfulness to the life of an eagle. " Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's." These majestic creatures can live for up to 30 years and a little bit above that. Yet, they live a life full of vitality.  Once eagles reach the age of hunting after 12 weeks (maximum) of birth, they continue flying and hunting till death.  This vitality even at such an old age borders on the supernatural. Most creatures lose their vitality, strength and speed as they grow older but not eagles.  Isaiah 40:30 says " Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:" This speaks of natural youthfulness that is a characteristic o...

Going to the ants XIX (The renewal process of an eagle)

Spirit Breakfast 🍞☕ 1/9/2020  Text: Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Continued from yesterday ... Contrary to a popular myth, eagles do not go up to a mountain top to pull off their feathers. They don't break off their talons and beaks either. This article debunks that myth.  Instead, eagles naturally lose their feathers through a molting process at least once a year. The old feathers fall off naturally and are replaced by new ones.  This is a renewal process. To renew simply means to make new again. What is old is made new again.  Isaiah 40:31 says that those who wait on God shall renew their strength. The strength of the eagle is in its wings (feathers). The wings are responsible for causing it to soar above 10,000 feet in the air.  For anyone to renew their strength, it takes waiting on God. Job said "...a...
