Anchor Text: Nehemiah 4:11-23

Subtext: Ephesians 6:13-18

Continued from the last post on this series...

Now before we begin analysing the weapons of a believer one after the other, it is important I bring something very congent to our notice. It is so 'known' that it is easy to ignore.

This truth is found in Ephesians 6:13 and it is one many have a head knowledge of but not the understanding of that is a product of its transference into our spirits.

Let's look at it closely: "Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil."

I've seen and heard of many believers who are still daily assaulted by the enemy in their bid to achieve progress and greatness. They complain about their predicament and even mention how they've prayed, studied and what not. Yet resisting the enemy is yet to be achieved.

The reason behind not being to resist the enemy effectively when he comes roaring like a lion is that a believer is not putting on EVERY PIECE of God's armour. All the weapons that make up the whole armour of God must be in their right place.

We must understand that if a piece of armour is missing, the enemy can still land the blow that cripples our progress. If the breastplate of a soldier is in place and the helmet is lacking, the enemy can still cause injury if not death. The same goes when the helmet is in place and the breastplate is missing.

Do not feel any piece of armour is unimportant. They all have their purspose in order to ensure your victory. No matter how 'small' it is don't neglect it, lest it becomes like the proverb "For want of a nail".

Let me share it as the final thought.

For want of a nail the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe the horse was lost.
For want of a horse the rider was lost.
For want of a rider the message was lost.
For want of a message the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.

We'll continue tomorrow by God's Grace.

Stay Graced...
