*Spirit Breakfast* 🍞☕ _14th March 2019_

*Theme:* *Wandering sheep*

*Anchor Text:* 1 Peter 2:25 (New Living Translation)
2:25 Once you were like sheep     who wandered away. But now you have turned to your Shepherd,     the Guardian of your souls

I have come to discover that it is quite easy for most Christians to draw on the 'goat analogy' as a description for those not in Christ. However, a careful study of the Bible will reveal to us that this is actually the opposite.

The scripture never refers to the lost as being goats. That reference is found only once in Matthew 25:32&33, and this was speaking of when the Lord will judge the Nations after the dispensation of Grace is over.

All through scripture, the lost are also referred to as sheep. *In the mind of the Father, we are all sheep;  it's our location from Him that varies.* Some are the sheep of His pasture. While other sheep have simply gone astray.

This understanding reveals to us that no one is far from the saving Grace of salvation. This is why Jesus died because we all were once lost sheep but He found us and is now our Shepherd.

To we who are saved, this should cause us to reach out more to those who have wandered away. Our Father sees them as simply misguided sheep that have lost their way and not stubborn headed goats. Let's reach out in love and compassion the same way Christ reached out for us when we were wandering sheep.

And if you're reading this and you're still not in Christ, I urge you to stop wandering. You're not a goat as some may make you believe. You're a sheep and you just need to find your way back to the fold. Jesus is ready to receive you today. Stop wandering, there's a place for you and Jesus wants you be your Shepherd.

Stay Graced...
