Theme: Isaiah 43:18-21 interpreted in relation to  Salvation. (Pt 2)
Sub Theme: A New Thing

Anchor Text: Isaiah 43:18
43:18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

The 1st verse of this chapter in Isaiah speaks of redemption. We know very well that whatever redemption the Israelites encountered wasn't complete. The elements within the chapter reveal certain things that weren't common in the Old Covenant before Jesus coming to become man.

Verse 8 records: 'Bring forth the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears.' Question here is how can someone be blind yet have eyes? How can one be deaf yet have ears? This was a statement to describe a healing process. Careful study of the entire scriptures before Jesus coming in the flesh reveals that no one healed the blind or the deaf. Therefore that reveals that the prophetic word contained in this chapter transcends just the normal interpretation we readily give it.

God speaking through His prophet Isaiah was telling the children of Israel that they should forget the things of old that they were familiar with.  A deeper look into this statement will reveal that the children of Israel could not fully follow this word from the Lord.

How were they to forget all what they have done and what they've been through? A natural man could not possibly do this. What was Isaiah actually talking about then?

To answer that let's look at a very popular New Testament verse.
2 Corinthians 5:17
[17]Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

And it is upon that verse we'll continue our discourse tomorrow...
