Topic: Proof of Discipleship

Text: John 13:35
By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

The proof of our discipleship is not the fact that we pray in tongues for hours.

It is not fasting for a whole year. Neither is it studying the entire Bible 5 times back to back.

Funny enough it is not by the number of souls we win.

The fundamental and foundational proof that you are a disciple is that you practise love.

It is the practise of love that makes all we do acceptable services unto God.

It is not that you have love but that you practise it.

Every child of God, every believer in Christ Jesus has love.

"And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us" Romans 5:5

At the new birth, love is sent into our hearts by the Spirit of Christ.

We are not trying to have love; we already have it.

God is Love. We are now sons of God; therefore we have the love nature.

It is then up to us to show this love to others intentionally.

A believer has love, but a disciple practises love.

Showing love can be difficult, that's why only disciples of Jesus who know the cost of discipleship can practice love the way Jesus did even when He was crucified.

Here's a test for us: Intentionally reach out to someone who might have hurt you and show that person genuine love today.

I pray that the Love of God will permeate our entire being and cause us to practise love in Jesus name.

Topic: Love Not The World Text: 1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him . John the Apostle had a personal relationship with Jesus during His time here on Earth. The relationship was so deep that he was referred to as "the beloved" of Jesus. Therefore, he understood what it means to love Jesus and be loved by Jesus. In his epistle, he decides to speak a great deal about love. Love is one of the major themes of this apostle. So much so it earned him the nickname 'The Apostle of love" John submission is that anyone who loves the world does not have the love of the Father. Which is why he encouraged the believers no to love the world, nor the things in it. Sadly, many believers have not only fallen in love with the world, but have laid in bed with the world. Theme: Isaiah 43:18-21 interpreted in relation to  Salvation. (Pt 11) Sub Theme: All will Honour God Anchor Text: Isaiah 43:20 The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen. Based on our anchor text, we discover that the reason the beast of the field, dragons and the owls would honour God was because He gave waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Like we have established already that the Holy Spirit is the One who causes waters in the wilderness (salvation) and rivers to flow in the desert (Holy Spirit baptism). These creatures mentioned weren't physical rather they were spiritual entities. They were the demonic forces that try to oppose God's rule on Earth.
