Topic: Be Filled With the Holy Spirit

Text: Ephesians 5:18-20 (New Living Translation)

5:18 Don’t be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit,
5:19 singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts.
5:20 And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
5:21 And further, submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Although the place of isolation is a place of revelations, there is a requirement that must be met for the revelations to come.

One must be "in the Spirit" if he/she is to receive revelations from the Lord.

Hence, it is important that the said person be filled with the Holy Spirit to a point so overwhelming it consumes, possesses and takes over the entirety of his/her being.

The bubbling of the Spirit within our bowels begins from the inside of us as Jesus said "out of your belly shall flow River of living water" (John 7:38)

The river must keep rising within us until it breaks every dam of flesh that tries to keep us carnal. It is only then we can break free and cross into the realm of the Immortal Spirit.

This is why many do not receive revelations because although they are in isolation, they are not in the Spirit.

The Spirit of the Lord is the Spirit of revelations and prophecies. It is until you're immersed in Him before the things that are to come as well as those that have occurred can be revealed.

Being in the Spirit is a product of being filled with the Spirit.

The Apostle Paul who was a custodian of revelations too great to even be uttered felt it important to reveal by inspiration the pathway into the Spirit.

The pathway into the Spirit is a progressive walk embedded in our text.

Although he by the Spirit mentioned several activities that can be practised to usher one into the Spirit, they all fall under one banner: "JOY"

We might discuss each individual activity he mentioned later but understand that without Joy you can never be in the Spirit.

The Apostle still in Romans 14:17 explains what the Kingdom of God consists of. He wrote: "For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost."

Therefore any entity that does not bear the Joy nature cannot access the realm of the Immortal Spirit.

It is important to understand that Joy is not a product of circumstances; happiness is. Rather Joy is a mechanism that gets you through circumstances.

Joy must be present in spite of the ccircumstances. Although the Apostle John was in isolation (persecution), he never lost his Joy which allowed him gain access into the Spirit.

The Prophet Isaiah prophesied in Isaiah 12:3 "Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation."

Without Joy you can never draw water from the depth of God's Spirit within you.

The well is within you as Jesus said in John 4:14 "But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."

So let me break it down:
1. You have a well of God's Spirit in you as a believer.
2. The only way to cause that River of God's Spirit to overflow is Joy.
3. When the river of God's Spirit overflows and overwhelms you completely, you are then ushered into the Spirit realm.
4. It is in the Spirit you then receive revelations.

My prayer for you and for myself is that these days of isolation and seclusion, we won't lose our Joy. Rather we'll experience greater Joy that will swell in our hearts and bring us to the place of Revelations.

Have a Graced day.
