Topic: Like a Thief in the Night

Text: 1 Thessalonians 5:1-4 (New Living Translation)
5:1 Now concerning how and when all this will happen, dear brothers and sisters, we don’t really need to write you.
5:2 For you know quite well that the day of the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night.
5:3 When people are saying, “Everything is peaceful and secure,” then disaster will fall on them as suddenly as a pregnant woman’s labor pains begin. And there will be no escape.
5:4 But you aren’t in the dark about these things, dear brothers and sisters, and you won’t be surprised when the day of the Lord comes like a thief.

During this global pandemic, many have risen from different circles to resound the imminent rapture of the saints.

Some give the warning almost with an assurance that it will happen during this pandemic.

Biblically, the rapture won't happen when everyone is "prepared".

The rapture is God's surprise package. It will catch many by surprise.

The surprising event is likened to a thief's coming in the night. No one expects when he will strike.

Scripture says it will happen in a twinkling of an eye. (1 Corinthians 15:52). It will be a "blink and you'll miss it moment".

The rapture will not occur when there is panic in the land and many are calling on Him.

According to scriptures, it will happen when “everything is peaceful and secure”. Not relatively peaceful for the saints (we gonna have some persecutions ahead).

However, this world will have a short time of peace compared to other periods in history. That's when unbelieving folks should be worried. (It's the calm before the storm)

The novel Covid-19 virus rampaging the globe is just one of the signs pointing to the end as prophesied by Jesus in Matthew 24.

It is not God's wrath upon the world as many describe it. It is just a sign of a fallen world coming to it's end.

And there are many other signs. (Read Matthew 24)

This period is a time to get close to God yes, but based on scriptures, it is not when the rapture will occur.

It is a period to develop endurance in faith necessary for final salvation from this world.

This crisis shall pass, don't be in fear; remain strong in faith.
Have a Graced day.

If you've been blessed or have a question, please let us know. It helps to know that folks are being blessed by this from time to time.
