Spirit Breakfast 21/1/2021



Text: Genesis 28:12

And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.


Jesus' life on the earth was dependent on the ministry of the Holy Spirit. 


The Holy Spirit was responsible for His incarnation by overshadowing Mary. (Luke 1:35)


The Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus at baptism. (Luke 3:22)


He also led Jesus into the wilderness (Luke 4:1), after which he returned in the power of the Spirit to begin His ministry. (Luke 4:14)


The bottom line is no man can function as a spiritual access point without the help of the Holy Spirit. 


The work of the Holy Spirit is to help us on our spiritual journey. 


When we try to do it without His help, we end up failing.


The Holy Spirit thrives in the life of a person who has lost self-dependency, and gained Spirit-dependency. 


Today, ask the Holy Spirit to help you. Tell Him how helpless and hopeless without Him. He is ready to help you. 


I pray that the Holy Spirit will help you for the rest of your days in every area of your life.

Theme: My God: My Shepherd Anchor Text: Psalms 23:1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. The 23rd Psalm is one of the most well known passages of the Bible. Topic: Love Not The World Text: 1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him . John the Apostle had a personal relationship with Jesus during His time here on Earth. The relationship was so deep that he was referred to as "the beloved" of Jesus. Therefore, he understood what it means to love Jesus and be loved by Jesus. In his epistle, he decides to speak a great deal about love. Love is one of the major themes of this apostle. So much so it earned him the nickname 'The Apostle of love" John submission is that anyone who loves the world does not have the love of the Father. Which is why he encouraged the believers no to love the world, nor the things in it. Sadly, many believers have not only fallen in love with the world, but have laid in bed with the world. Theme: Isaiah 43:18-21 interpreted in relation to  Salvation. (Pt 11) Sub Theme: All will Honour God Anchor Text: Isaiah 43:20 The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen. Based on our anchor text, we discover that the reason the beast of the field, dragons and the owls would honour God was because He gave waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. Like we have established already that the Holy Spirit is the One who causes waters in the wilderness (salvation) and rivers to flow in the desert (Holy Spirit baptism). These creatures mentioned weren't physical rather they were spiritual entities. They were the demonic forces that try to oppose God's rule on Earth.
