Topic: Even great men have fears

Text: 1 Kings 19:2-4 (New Living Translation)
[2]So Jezebel sent this message to Elijah: “May the gods strike me and even kill me if by this time tomorrow I have not killed you just as you killed them.”
[3]Elijah was afraid and fled for his life. He went to Beersheba, a town in Judah, and he left his servant there.
[4]Then he went on alone into the wilderness, traveling all day. He sat down under a solitary broom tree and prayed that he might die. “I have had enough, lord,” he said. “Take my life, for I am no better than my ancestors who have already died.”

Sometimes, when we see those who have achieved some amazing feats in life we think of them as Supermen. We only see those achievements, but we don't see their struggles.

If there's one thing I love about the Bible, it is that it shows us the fears, frailties and weaknesses of the great heroes of faith we try to emulate.

Imagine Elijah after the major miracle of calling down fire on the mountain becoming instantly afraid when he heard Jezebel's message.

A great man's life is not bereft of times when they are afraid, when they feel disappointed, or when they want to give up. All these allude to their humanity.

Although they experience such low periods, they refuse to remain in that valley.

So as you progress in your journey of greatness, don't remain in the valley of fear, just walk through it. Those low moments will come, those times when you feel like throwing in the towel, but don't remain in such moments.

The story of a great man is full of challenges as well as their victory over such challenges. This is the hallmark of the great.

I know you might be feeling afraid, worried, confused, or lonely. We all feel such from time to time, but we don't allow it to stop us from moving forward.

Hold on, the Lord is sending an angel to strengthen and encourage you like He did unto Elijah. And you can also encourage yourself in the Lord like David did.

You are great and you will win...

Have a graced day...
