Spirit Breakfast 🍞☕ 5/5/2020
TOPIC: Christ died for us
Romans 5:6-8 (New Living Translation)
5:6 When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners.
5:7 Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good.
5:8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.
Paul in his wonderful dissertation of Salvation in the letter to the Romans showed us that salvation originated from God.
Salvation is not that which can be acquired by ourselves. Rather it was a gift from God that was sealed through the death of Jesus Christ on the cross.
We were all saved in the nick of time just before the devil's claws could drag us into eternal perdition.
Christ died for us even when we were not worth dying for. Even after we've been saved, very few of us will even die for themselves.
Hence, righteousness which we enjoy is imputed to us.
I'll like you to take out time today and just thank Jesus for the salvation of your soul. This is the greatest gift we've ever received.
Have a Graced day.
