Which water are you drinking?

Text: John 4:13-14
[13]Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
[14]But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.
Water is satisfying; it quenches thirst. There are all sorts of drinkable liquid but not all quench thirst.
Some even increase thirst. Others take away thirst while you drink; only for the thirst to return immediately you finish drinking.
Some liquid looks like water, but they aren't. They have the colorless look, but they have mixtures that make them have a taste.
Have you wondered why a liquid (water) that has no taste has the ability to quench thirst? Something that your tongue lacks the perception to detect, yet it is the most satisfying and thirst-quenching liquid of all.
There is something about the purity of water that cannot be duplicated. Other liquid might look like water, but they will never be without taste or smell.
Even in spiritual matters, there are so many things that look like the waters of salvation that only Jesus offers. They look like the answer to the thirst that man feels inside of our spirits.
Some of them offer temporary relief, but after a while that chasm inside us opens again.
Which water are you drinking?
The woman at the well felt the water she had was capable of satisfying thirst. But we all know it only had temporary relief from thirst.
What are those things you're drinking from that you think is taking away the thirst of your soul? If you are sincere with yourself, you'll agree they don't offer a lasting solution.
Jesus offers water that fills you up completely. Once you completely drink up that which He is offering you today, you will find the rest for your soul.
Some believers are yet to drink up the water completely. This is the place of total surrender and trust. It is when you get to this point that you feel a satisfaction unlike no other.
Stop drinking from empty cisterns, drink from the wells of salvation today. Accept Jesus completely, believe, and confess Him as Lord. Only then can you come to a place of rest like the woman at the well.
