Forget the past

Text: Philippians 3:12-14 (New Living Translation)
[12]I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me.
[13]No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead,
[14]I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.
One of the greatest hindrance to any kind of progress is dwelling on the past.
Refusal to let go of events that occurred yesterday can hinder today's progress. Constant reflection on past failures as well as successes are emotional baggage that paralyse forward motion.
Reflecting on past failures is something many have overcome this. However, reflecting on past success is a subtle kind of hindrance that many fail to take cognisance of.
When you dwell on past success, it prevents you from seeing new frontiers of progress.
Individuals, families, organisations and even nations that have experienced some level of success in the past and constantly reminisce on those achievements become stagnant.
Achieving any goal should push you to set new goals. You are allowed to take a little time to appraise yourself on the goal attained but don't you think that's the best.
If you were the best yesterday and settle at that, soon you'll discover you've become second best. Always have the mindset of "I did it, let's move on".
Have a graced day...
