Text: Job 22:29
When men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.
en men are cast down, then thou shalt say, There is lifting up; and he shall save the humble person.
Our anchor text is one of the well known verses in the book of Job. Many believers have quoted it, but not many practise what it teaches.
Many just think it as one of those verses of encouragement. It is however more of an instruction than an encouragement.
"When men are cast down" signifies that the situation around is not promising. In fact, the same situation others face around you is what you're also going through.
The instruction is that in spite of such circumstances, your confession (what you say) about yourself should be contrary to the negative situations.
So when men are cast down (including yourself on the physical), your confession should be that "there is lifting up".
The next line says when you confess in that way, God will save you (the humble person).
The text therefore isn't just about believing what God will do, but speaking that which He will do.
That's why the previous verse (28) says: "Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways."
Go ahead and begin to decree that which you desire this morning, and according to the word of the Lord which cannot be broken, it shall be established unto you.
Have a graced day...
